After a brief rest The Butterfly Club has well and truely re-opened for 2010 with a big year planned. In February alone: - We're one of the key venues hubs for the Midsumma Festival, presenting 10 shows of all persuasions. - Whirling dervish of wit, revelation and philosophy Rachel Berger makes a return season Thurs 4 to Sat 6 Feb. - In conjunction with the St Kilda Laughs Festival we're hosting two sneak peak shows that will appear in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in March / April. On Fri 12 & Sat 13 Feb we will host the 2009 Melbourne Fringe ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Best Cabaret’ award winner, Tommy Bradson, in "When the Sex is Gone". And Thurs 11 to Sat 13 Feb we will host rapidly rising star Karin Muiznieks' new show "First Against the Wall". We're offering double complimentary tickets to media wishing to see these two shows in Feb (thereby enabling you to have two comedy festival shows under your belt well before the festival). Please reply to this email by end Jan to claim your seat. - We're hosting two Valentine's Day special shows on Sun 14 Feb. - Wrongtown, the acclaimed runner-up winner of 2009 Short+Sweet Cabaret, appears on Thurs 18 to Sat 20 Feb. - And Sally Bourne and Susan-ann Walker return Thurs 25 to Sun 28 Feb. Cabaret cocktail of the month: The ‘Wrongtown’ featuring a mix of spirits and juices simply shouldn’t be mixed. It’s simply wrong. Looking ahead: Our entire comedy festival season is now on www.thebutterflyclub.com and features Australia’s hottest award-winning acts. |
